There is a remote setting in the D3300 that allows the use of the ML-L3. It is 100% compatible with the camera. If you own the camera, please check out page 97 of your camera's manual as it details out Remote Control Photography.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the D3200 and it works perfectly. Thus it should also work with the D3300. I change the setting on the camera for remote shutter and then it just works!
