I have the 4 quart and while I only use a tiny amount of space for just me, I would suggest the 6 qt for a family of 5. It's not so much about capacity as it is about air space; food crisps better when the air can circulate around the food. That's why you need to take the tray out and give it a shake a few times while cooking. I think you'd find this easier to do with more food in the 6 qt. Either way, I can tell you it's worth it. My favorite kitchen gadget!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would buy the 6 qt if it's in your budget. I wish I had gotten the 6 qt and there is only 2 of us. When using for meats, I like to have only one layer. Four qt is kinda small. I cooked pork chops and I could only do 2 at a time.
