- Answer Only difference I see is with the espresso side. The 601 doesn't give the ristretto selection where the 602 does. They are the same except for that.

- Answer So far, I have used starbucks nespresso pods and peets nespresso pods. As long as it's a nespresso pod (fits in the opening), I believe you will be just fine. The nespresso pods are smaller than a k-cup and is normally rounded on the bottoms.

- Answer My experience has been that the warming plate is automatically turned on (and stays on for a specific timeframe) when we use the carafe that came with the unit. We haven't used it for any other carafe size.
