Thick steaks cook up fine. Cook them at 500 degrees and wait until you’re told to add the food so that you get that sear you want. Check the temp with a thermometer and take it out when it gets within 5 degrees of the temp you want.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does a great job off cooking thick steaks. Grill on high for about 9 to 11 minutes.. you should flip half way through. They turn out wonderfully juicy and tender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because of the way this grill is designed it should cook the steak exactly how you like it. I’ve cooked a few steaks with mine and noticed that mine had that char crisp on the outside just like an outdoor grill but the inside was tender and moist and the taste was the same out of a 5 star restaurant. I would caution to follow the instructions closely. As meat with too much fat on it can cause the grill to smoke up. The grill has a design to minimize smoke but can still get overwhelmed if the smoke is too much or two thick! I would say say trim most but not all. Monitor the heat setting and time and every so often take a peak inside. (There is a learning curve to get over before you get it right). But once you learn it’s an amazing small appliance worth every dollar!
