- Answer I don’t think it would get as much cooked if you had the lid open because I think you need to keep it shut to keep it airtight just like a barbecue

QuestionDo you have to use the thermometer or is it optional when using the grill to cook meat? Will it not work without the thermometer when grilling?

- Answer The internal thermometer is optional. There is a “manual” mode for grilling where you set the cooking time OR you can use the thermometer and set your desired meat temp. Hope this helps answer your question.
