While I haven’t tried yet- I would only brew hot water into the cup with the packet cocoa in it. If you’re wanting to do real cocoa with milk and chocolate, you’d want to use the stove.

Our solution for him was to just place the "tea receptical" in the maker, empty, and just run hot water on "classic" setting. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any specific "hot chocolate" setting that would work to dispense Hot Chocolate. Personally, I believe microwaving water would be equally as convenient and take just as much time if not less.
