Per the manual you should not use an extension cord, but if you get a good 15 amp rated 3 prong grounded cord you should be fine. That is the only drawback is the cord is not as long as it probably should be. Make sure you have GFCI outlet. safety first for outdoor electric items. Protect it from the weather. The cover is very good, but it should not sit in direct rain no matter.
