To do it, when playing any game press the reset button (I recommend pausing the game first). Pressing the reset button is not like the reset button of the originals, on this it brings you back to the main menu where you will see a little window of the game you were just playing with wings. Press down to open the 4 slave slots available for the game, then press A to save it in an available slot. Hold A to overwrite an existing save. You can also lock saved games to prevent overwriting. This, for example, lets you save your game before fighting the final boss in Punch-Out so if you fail you can go right back to him.
