• I have i7 9700K and I play in both 3440 x 1440 & 4K, haven't seen a bottleneck at all. Gaming above QHD+ resolution usually consumes more GPU power than the CPU. Youtube has some videos running high end graphics card on previous-gen CPUs and newer CPUs only make small differences in the framerate.

• Yes, this will be fine with the 9700K. it may be a minor bottleneck, but it will handle VR just fine.
