Q: Questiondoes this have a usb cable and software so you can download it to a computerItem description says it does, but a customer review says it does not

• A:Answer No this recorder is a stand alone device and cannot connect to a computer. I suggest considering the VN-8100PC. The PC versions of the VN recorders offer the ability to download the recordings.

Q: Questiondoes recorder include a ac power adaptor for plugging into 120volts outlet, durring recording?A plug in which is supplied with 120vac that rectifys it to the dc voltage needed by the recorder for recording without batteries in unit?

Q: QuestionCan I Record a Conversation from my Home Phone - LAN LineI'm going to be conducting phone interviews that I would like to record. Does this device work with home phones - LAN LINE? How would I connect it to the phone to make sure it captures the conversation? Thanks.

• A:Answer Then manual says you can set an hour and minute for starting a recording, or repeat recording at the same time every day. Have never tried it...

• A:Answer Your recording will jump to the beginning of that recording. It does not rewind backwards like a tape recorder.

Q: QuestionHow does it connect to a computer?I purchased the recorder two weeks ago. There was no software or connecting cable with it. I thought it would connect to my computer with a mini USB to USB cable, but there is no mini USB port on the recorder. (The recorder this one replaced has a mini USB port.). I purchased an iPod shuffle USB Cable. This was the only cable that Best Buy on Dodge Street in Omaha NE had that would connect to the EAR port on the recorder and a USB plug. When I connect it to my computer and turn it on, nothing happens. It does not show up under "This PC" like the older recorder does. What do I need to buy or do to download the audio files from this recorder to my year old DELL computer running Windows 8?

• A:Answer Yes! It's discrete and doesn't make loud noises. It also hold lots of storage and has a long battery life. You can even save files in separate folders for different meetings if you meet with multiple groups.

• A:Answer If the question is about the range of the recorder, I've had the recorder roughly 8' from someone speaking at a large conference table and speaking at a conversational level and had a good clear recording.
