• You can use it while standing. But, it is important to use it the same way every time for consistency. Some people have postural hypotension where blood pressure drops when they quickly stand up from sitting or laying down position resulting in dizziness in some cases. This machine will detect it, at least theoretically.

• When taking BP, one should always be seated. The arm should be resting to get the best reading. If standing is the only option, rest the arm on something.
