it's a 5.2 so that means 5 surround and up to 2 subs, 7.2 would be 7 surround and 2 subs. etc. So NO it will not support 6 in one zone but it can extend to a second zone in which you can use the extra two speakers. Btw, 4 speakers for surround is really a waste when you can add a center speaker (assuming that's what's missing) for a much more superior sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The receiver will support a 5.2 setup and has a zone 2 line out jack. Onkyo recommends in their manual to connect the zone 2 line out to a "pre-main amplifier" in another room, etc. Extra speakers would be limited by this other amplifier. As for audio on the zone 2, they state that it depends on the input signal (analog, Bluetooth, net, etc.) to both devices as to whether they play the same or different audio out. Hope this makes sense.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will support two zones, but you need an exterior amp to power the speakers on the second zone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes it will
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does support the two zones. I have a Bose 5.1 speaker set up for the main room with (I believe) RCA jacks that will support two speakers for Zone 2 when I get around to it. I plan on using a wireless speaker set up for Zone 2 to send the signal from my TV room out to my garage without having to run wires all over the place.
