QuestionI have a cd-player; a record player and an AM/FM tuner. Can all 3 units be connected to this Onkyo receiver? I am replacing a 20 year old Onkyo receiver.

QuestionI am considering buying this AV Receiver how ever i have three video cords going to TV. I only see one outgoing video to monitor? Where do my three video cords attach?

- Answer Assuming you have 3 HDMI cords going to your TV. The receiver has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. The input slots are labeled (1)Blu-Ray/DVD, (2)cable/satellite, (3)streaming box, and (4)game. Unplug the 3 HDMI cords from your TV and plug them into the appropriate receiver input slots. Then connect a single HDMI cord from the receiver's single output slot to your TV. The signals from your 3 HDMI inputs will be channeled thru the receiver to the TV.

QuestionI have existing speakers in place.they are 3ohm .would they work? I see that this receiver powers 6 ohm minimum .

- Answer I cannot say for sure. However, 3 ohm simply means your speakers have less resistance and can therefore be powered more easily. I have never seen 3 ohm. It was always 8 ohm house and 4 ohm car. With 3 ohm speakers the receiver should easily push them, you will simply need to be extra careful not to blow them. This receiver will push a lot of power for those low resistance speakers and Okyo does not want to be held responsible for speakers less than 6 ohms being blown. Power them at your own risk.

Question- Can I control the volume w/ TV remote - Can I turn program the receiver to turn on when I turn on the TV? (basically, for TV application, can i eliminate the an additional remote ctrl) Thanks

- Answer You should be able to program the receiver to your cable/sat receiver remote via the aux button or if you have the money I would get a Harmony remote to control everything.

- Answer I have my directv, bluray player, ps4 and amazon fire tv all connected directly to the receiver using 4K hdmi cables. From the receiver out one hdmi connected to my 4K TV. I just select the source I want to watch on my receiver remote. I also have my smart phone connected to receiver via bluetooth. They sell adapters for headphone jack for $5 at Best Buy. You can also connect devices to receiver using composite a/v cables. You can have everything connected to tv and only an optical cable running from tv to receiver for instance and get sound that way but the sound quality wont be as good.

QuestionJust got a new LG 65UH8500, will running the video through this receiver degrade the picture quality? Would hate to drop the pic quality for the convenience a few less cables.

- Answer Make sure the "4K60P" setting is set to 4:4:4. The out of the box setting is 2:2:2 I think.

- Answer yes center channel for movies with sound 5.1 is important but a center speaker u can buy a used one for a low price and a sub woofer be a plus

QuestionTrying to connect my ps4 on my Vizio m60-d1 I changed the HDMI to 4:4:4 and can get 4k but no hdr..when it is in 4:2:2 I get hdr but no 4k..not sure why this is anyone help?

- Answer Hdmi input 1 is 4k hdr. Hdmi 5 is 4k and lower lag. You have to activate the hdr on the TV settings. Input settings. Choose the hdmi your ps4 is connected to. Turn on full uhd color. Hope this helps.

- Answer I do not have a Roku, but you should be able if your hooking up using HDMI cables. Audio and video is conveyed by the HDMI cable. The HDMI cable video out to your projector is a pass through for the video signal.

- Answer Either or, not both. If you have an HDMI BD/DVD plugged in, it overrides the composite DVD in. You can physically connect both SD and HD devices but you will have to unplug the HDMI cable to get composite/component audio to pass thru the tuner. Also, DVD video is not passed to the video monitor via HDMI when using DVD composite. You'll have to use the "Monitor" output on the Onkyo and connect to the monitor, or simply take video directly from the DVD player to the monitor.

QuestionIs this unit HDCP 2.2 compatible? If not - you can kiss your 4k resolution goodbye on your new set. Just picked up Directv's newest receiver and found out my Yamaha AV (which has 4k passthrough) - won't play 4k without this little copyright garbage

- Answer Yes, I have the LG65UH8500 from 2015 that is 4K & 3D. The receiver passes 4K and 3D thru to the TV very well for the price. I pass the 3D from a Sony 4K upscale BluRay player thru the receiver to the TV and the TV upconverts the picture to near 4K quality. I can see a difference compared to running the same movie thru the PS4 since it doesn't upscale the picture before the receiver.
