- Answer That is totally false I just purchased this blender thinking it would come with a glass carafe and it didn't!! Bestbuy or Oster really need to clarify this, because I am planning on return it. Plastic carafes deteriorate really fast!!

QuestionIs this considered a mini food processor? My primary use for this will be to PULSE Almonds and grind them down to a powder. I DO NOT want almond butter. Nor do I want to add any liquid to the almonds. Is this machine designed for this and up to the job?

- Answer Thank you for reaching out. Yes, it can. For Best Ice Crushing without liquid: use pulse button until you achieve desired results. With liquid: Add desired amount of ice cubes and water until ice floats. Blend on High until you achieve desired results then strain off water. This blender is an ice crusher. The powerful motor starts up with 1200 watts of power that consistently crushes ice, pulverizes greens and turns frozen fruit into a smooth sorbet. QuestionI saw in one of the questions someone else had asked about a glass carafe and the answer was it did came with one. That is totally false it's plastic! And my question is can this plastic carafe withstand hot liquids in the log run without damaging it?

QuestionWhere can I get a separate travel cup, like Ninja has? And if so, can I attach the cup to the base?

- Answer Oster has a smoothie cup that uses the same blade assembly as the blender to allow you to blend your drink in the cup you drink it from. You add the ingredients, add the blade, blend it to your desired consistency, remove the cup and blade assembly, turn it so that blade side is up, and swap off the blade assembly for the drinking lid assembly. Replacement cups can be ordered from us at (800) 334-0759. Our hours of availability are from 9AM-6PM EST Monday-Friday. We are temporarily out of stock though on the smoothie cups, so we suggest you wait 4-6 weeks for stock replenishment.

QuestionAre the drive shaft and blade base both metal? Are replacement blades available? I haven't been able to get replacement blades for my current Oster blender and doubt support for this one.

- Answer Motor base is stamped assembledin Mexico. I will assume none of product parts made in U.S. There is a product that has glass parts for blender. Some of parts are dish washer safe. Lids , blades seal ring.
