The material is the same. The only difference is that the rubber part of the case goes on first with the commuter series vs the defender where the hard plastic goes on first and the rubber part goes on last.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It fit perfectly in your hand the edge is just right
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No rubbery exterior keeping this case slender yet durable. I personally prefer this commuter over the defender for me the rubbery exterior made it too bulky.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The rubbery grip is very smooth and well made
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Haven’t handled the Defender series in a while, the Commuter out of the box felt pretty stiff, not much contrast between hard plastic and silicone/rubber bits. (May soften with abuse)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s less rubbery and more hard plastic. And of course it still provides the protection I want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s a little slick but the way it’s easy to slide in your pocket but yet easy grip to hold if that makes sense. Hope that helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn’t really have rubber. The entire back piece is the hard plastic. The only rubber part is around the edges. For what it is worth it allow a better grip for me to hold onto the phone, but I ended up getting a pop socket anyways.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There’s two strips on each side of the phone. They work well to keep the phone from sliding off a car seat or countertop. I like this case as a good compromise between the bigger Otter cases and the slimmer sleeve cases.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I own both the Defender and Commuter cases. The rubber grip provides a better hand feel; pocket storage is pain and guilt free. I have the Defender for a backup.
