I am the person with the original question. I bought my new iPhone 12 Mini back in December 2020. I did NOT get an answer quick enough, but I still bought the Otterbox Defender Pro case from Best Buy back then anyway. It works fine for my needs. I found out that the Otterbox Defender Pro I ordered, which was less expensive then the PRO XT is not designed to work with MagSafe. I decided I didn't care about that MagSafe feature since I found out the the total cost for both MagSafe charger and the higher priced OtterBox case designed for MagSafe were too high for the little benefit it gave me. The MagSafe charges only at 15W. So it is a slower charge, but convenient. I rather have a faster charger. My new RavPower charger is 65w (but you still have to plug it in) and it auto regulates the power as not to damage the iPhone, MacBook, etc. It has dual output ports so you can charge more than one device at a time. One port is for the new cable that came with my iPhone 12 Mini (USB-C) and the other port is for USB-A. Oh by the way, I still had to buy an additional clear shield since the new Otter Box Pro Defender doesn't have one built in like my last 6 Otter Box Defender Pro cases did for my older models. Hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The case is too thick to work with MagSafe charger. You will need to remove the case for MagSafe charging
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.MikeG--I was just wondering this same question, and Otterbox informs me that it is NOT the same phone. The "Pro" designation refers to the antimicrobial properties, only. So it is not the same as the Pro XT with MagSafe, and is not guaranteed to work with MagSafe.
