More than likely because the new design of the screens. The screens almost go to the edge and are curved so otterbox made a screen protector that is separate from the case and adheres to the phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No it's not safe to assume that, this is a $1000 phone and there is no excuse to why this case doesn't come with a screen protector. They do sell one separately for $45. I say it's just another way to get out money.

It didn't actually stick to the glass which caused debris to become trapped under the cover. I'd suggest getting a Zagg screen protector. They have a lifetime warranty, which I have taken advantage of many times.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If placed face down the screen does not touch. That doesn't mean it's impossible. I would recommend the glass protection made by ZAGG. I'm guessing because of the size and curved glass screen they didn't include screen protection this time.

Please try again later.I was told that the screen protector that had always been part of the defenders series was eliminated on some of the phones because of the curved screen. They say that the screens on the latest phones are better than ever but I still used a Zagg Invisashield curved glass protector.

I currently have the S8+ case and it didn't come with a screen protector. The top and bottom edges are raised so the screen doesn't sit flat on any surface. My phone goes in and out of my pocket frequently per day and with the Gorilla Glass the phones now come with, I have not experienced any scratching on the surface with no screen protection. It might not feel as protected, but the plastic screen cover on other model phones I have had sucked. They would always get dirty, I would recommended getting a glass screen protector if you want protection.

Please try again later.It the highest level gorilla glass, very hard and a scratch resistant, and many user with this case on previous phones removed the plastic and found it hindered feel of the phone. there is always a risk, with or without a screen protector of screen damage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Previous otterbox screen protectors are notorious for collecting dust under the screen which most people do not prefer. I think the best bet is to get a tempered glass screen protector (ends up costing more) and using a solid case like otterbox.
