Yes it’s rugged enough for “any” device but no it’s not waterproof

It may improve the chances of surviving some light rain but it will do nothing to protect a phone from being submerged in water. All new iPhones, from iPhone 7 and newer, are water resistant and can handle being dunked into water briefly, some models are more resistant than others but defender pro is NOT waterproof.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The OtterBox Defender Pro offers maximum protection while keeping out dust, dirt, lint, and grime. Although it does all of that it’s not a waterproof case, but most phones today are waterproof. I recommend this to anyone wanting the maximum protection for their device.
