No it doesn't cover the charging port. I like it that way because the cover gets in the way when you want to use the phone's lightning port to charge it or to download photos/data to your computer or iTunes. Just my personal preference. If you store everything on the cloud and charge wirelessly, perhaps it isn't as big a consideration. Good luck on your choice. Just as an FYI, I used to buy the Otterbox Commuter cases which cover the charging port but just changed to the Symmetry for my 12 Pro Max. Like other reviewers, I find the Commuter's rear side grips too rough on my hands between the thumb and pointer finger. I also like the sleeker, but same protection rating, look and feel. Very happy with my switch to the Symmetry case. The Pro Max is large and this case feels so good in my hands. Otterbox is a great company. Best wishes.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it is an open port. Allows for easy access to charging port, it does not cover up like the bulkier OtterBox cases.
