Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup! It certainly can! Be aware that the devil will be in the details! You will need a fireproof shelf for safety -- from the cooking food below, not from the microwave. You will need to allow for plenty of ventilation especially in this location! Think deeper shelf than the depth of the microwave, and mfg's suggested clearances on each side, which usually isn't a problem installing a microwave over a standard range (stove-top/oven combo). Also -- in this location you need to consider water vapor from the stove-top cooking and from the oven that usually vents through one of the burner holes. The wider shelf DEFLECTS most of that rising vapor past your microwave to a CEILING mounted ventilation fan if you have one at all. Over the stove -- UNDER the exhaust fan will NOT WORK for space restrictions if nothing else, and there could be plenty of "else" here. SAFETY FIRST You will need to provide for heat protected electricity of sufficient amperage to run your microwave. IN GENERAL -- an AIR CONDITIONER extension cord, rated for 20 AMPS is your ticket here! If you are handy, drill holes in a diameter sufficient to push the duplex outlet end through a side and bottom of your next to the stove cabinet usually and any interior shelves, drop the cord of sufficient length to do this with a SINGLE extension cord, plug into the wall duplex outlet and you shouldn't have any troubles. Two additional strong suggestions: NEVER cut the cord and splice it to make a smaller hole. This can trash the safety functions of an intact extension cord! MEASURE the distance carefully! Buy the CORRECT LENGTH extension cord -- better a little long is better than short -- DO NOT remove the grounding prong!! DOUBLE CHECK with an electrician or local code enforcement officer (he's free) that this is LEGAL in your area!!! NO FOOLING!! Better safe than sorry!
