Hi. Unfortunately, our microwave ovens are not Energy Star certified.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it's not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, that depends. Microwaves are rated by wattage (our Panasonic is rated at 1250W). Higher wattage means more energy per minute, but it cooks faster than lower wattage models. All things being equal, they probably all use about the same energy to cook a given products (e.g., 1250 for 1 minute versus 675 for 2 minutes). Compared to other cooking methods, microwaves are thought to be VERY energy efficient. No preheating, little wasted energy (e.g., heat loss), etc. The main gripe people have is that they don't brown the food, so if you care, you would need to look for a combination microwave/convection model...typically more expensive and less efficient. Microwaves are efficient, convenient, and FAST! Best for re-heating, defrosting, and cooking snacks and small meals. We use it more that any other method, and save the stove and ovens for things that are best cooked that way (roasting turkeys, baking, large meals, etc.).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, before buy this, I need to pause the other microwave to use other appliances in the kitchen. Now I can use all of them at the same time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The users manual said it is. We haven't noticed any energy issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NOT SURE, BUT IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Compared to standard ovens (yes!) or other microwave ovens of equal power and capacity? This one is probably way more efficient because of the way it regulates the cooking process. It is the only one (so I hear) that can run at reduced power as opposed to turning full power on and off like most ovens do. At the end of the day, this is a fantastic microwave and certainly the best I have ever owned. But, I have not done any power consumption comparisons between ovens so couldn't tell you if it costs less to run than a GE or Samsung or (fill in name brand here) does.
