I encountered this years ago when we got the Xfinity bundle with the phone. Bottom line is: You have to choose. I prefer my own answering machine, so I called Xfinity and got them to delete the voice mail service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Kindly take note that you cannot use both answering machine and voicemail at the same time. If answering machine is enabled, all messages will go there, except from messages left while you are using the phone. The answering machine is not working if the line is in use so therefore the messages can go to voicemail in that case.
