- Answer Hi! The answering machine from the Panasonic base does not work while you are on the phone, therefore, you will need to activate your voicemail from the provider, that will work if you are on the phone already. -A

QuestionWe brought the KX-TGD864S phone. Everything works but it will drop the call when I am talking to the person for a while. It has happened 5 times and our older 12 year 6.0 Panasonic phones didn't do that. Does anyone have this problem. Can it be fixed.

- Answer Hello! The manual is available online at the following website: https://help.na.panasonic.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/KXTGD86x_PNQX9141ZA_ENG_ESP.pdf . If you want to turn on the answering machine, you need to press the ANSWER ON/OFF button on the main base unit. Also, if you want to record your own greeting message, you need to take a handset, then press MENU, then the key # and enter code 302. After a beep sounds, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the microphone (2 minutes max.). and press STOP to stop recording. In the end, you need to press OFF to exit the programming mode. QuestionI have a hearing problem. Does the unit have adjustable volume high enough that I can be use it for conversations. I do not have a hearing aid.

- Answer Hi! You can press the UP arrow repeatedly to increase the volume to the desired setting during a call. We also recommend our amplified phone systems: KX-TGM420, KX-TGM430 and KX-TGM450. These phone systems boost volume for caller voice amplification up to 40 dB and set ringer tone volumes up to 100 dB. Hope this helps! -C

QuestionHow long should I be able to talk on my new KX-TGD864 phone before it shows the battery level down one of the 3 levels?

- Answer Hours? I can talk for at least 2 hours almost straight and the level doesnt really change. If left off the charger the level will probably take a day or so before it changes. We have had very good luck with our Panasonic phones in the past and that is why we bought this brand again.
