• Yes, they should be fine. The “40 watt max” refers to the HEAT of an incandescent bulb which would give about 400 lumens of light. The Philips hue would give 800 lumens of light (like the old 60 watt incandescent) but with very little heat.

• These bulbs draw under 10 watts, not anywhere near your 40 max. You are good to go.
