QuestionI am use to wattages and the higher the number the brighter it is, is it the same with these type bulbs?

- Answer Yes, but you'll have to look for the "incandescent wattage equivalent" to compare these to incandescent bulbs. For example, this 10W bulb is the brightness equivalent of a 60W incandescent bulb. However, if you're comparing comparable LED bulbs, a 12W bulb would be brighter than a 10W. For this one, think of it as a "normal" brightness. Philips does make brighter bulbs if that's what you need.

QuestionIs it possible to only connect to this bulb via bluetooth? No wifi, no hub. I only want to program on and off times through bluetooth and leave it alone. I would like to also turn it on and off locally, again via bluetooth only.

- Answer Yes, these are the new type of Hue that have Bluetooth as well. You can only do up to ten lamps with Bluetooth and you have to be closer than when you’re using a hub. The Bluetooth connection only works on one device and you have to download a Philips Hue Bluetooth version of the app.

- Answer No, I didn't have a bridge. Just ask Alexa to discover new devices, or go to the Alexa app on your phone and add new device. It takes about 45 seconds and then baboom!

- Answer In terms of power draw, and heat generated (this is the Watt rating), the Hue A19 bulbs are 9.5W, well below the 40W. The largest concern will be that they fit the fan's dome or housings well. The A19 is shaped like many "traditional" bulbs most people use in their homes, and thus are generally compatible with any light bulb socket which would fit a "standard" bulb. I have these in many places, including 2 ceiling fans. They work just fine.

- Answer I’m assuming the lights that I have specifically would work fine since they have the same type of socket. However, they do make lights specifically for recessed fixtures. Hope that helped you and answered your question.

- Answer Yes, I have the Hue lights in multiple ceiling fans in my home. As long as the power is on from the switch or chain, then they work like a charm! I leave the light switch on 24/7 and control the fan with the pull chain and then control the lights with the app.

- Answer Yes, they have the dimmer option in the app so if you set you switch on full brightness you won't have any issue.

- Answer I have the hue bridge with these bulbs. The app allows you to set a time for the lights to slowly brighten or slowly dim at night. I am not sure if you need the bridge.

- Answer I have your exact setup and yes, it will work. Your Xfinity box will plug into the hue sync box and the hue sync box plugs into your tv. Everything on your Xfinity box will work, including all the streaming apps. If you plug more than one HDMI device into the sync box it can be a hassle to change inputs. You can no longer change inputs on the tv as it now only sees one input from the hue sync box. You have to use the hue sync app to change inputs. There are settings in the app to allow the input to automatically change when a device turns on which works great for the PlayStation but the Xfinity box is always on so you have to manually switch it. Btw, it’s a very cool product but I don’t find it to be very useful. It is distracting when watching movies. Kind of a gimmick but a very cool one.
