I was wondering the same thing. The Light strip Plus is $25. That is an extension for this light strip. If you are wanting to have different colors in different parts of your house, you will need multiple of the $80 light strips. If you are okay with having the same color and extending an existing light strip, buy the plus. The plus WILL NOT work without the $80 light strip.

The HUE LightStrip Plus Dimmable LED Smart Light comes with two different light strip sizes, one being 2m and the other one 1m in length. As for the type, these are an older model of the HUE LightStrips. In this case, I would look at the Philips HUE Ambiance White + Color LightStrips V4. Best Buy only offers the V3 model for now.
