There are metal plates/wings that stick out from the body at an angle. They create pressure against the inside wall of the can light fixture to stay in place. These have a strong hold that is much strong than other non-spring retrofit light kits I have used. Others have started to sag over time, but these hold their place well, so far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They have "Torsion Clips" which I find to be easier because you can turn the light counter clockwise to release them should you need to replace the light. If you look at the pictures you'll see there are metal "wings", if you will, these are the clips which you adjust by moving them horizontally to the correct size of the can. Once the size is correct you just push the light in place. I have over 15 of these installed and they hold well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was worried about this too at first, but I now have several of these and they hold very well. No issues with any of them!
