I am not sure 100% for that question. usually trimmers wont remove hair completely (as far as I know). this particular one i use for trimming only ( more than just glooming, i used for beard). Over all, i would rate this trimmer 4.5 for the price I paid and the efficiency.

grooming is best. You dont get a close enough shave to work on the head.
