Hello! When it comes to cleaning, both Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 and Sonicare 9900 Prestige toothbrushes are identical as they come with same modes, except that the Sonicare 9900 Prestige has Sensitive. Also, the Prestige Toothbrush has SenseIQ technology where it senses, adapts and cares on your brushing routine. The sensors also keep an eye on how long and how often you brush and adjusts intensity when you push too hard, while the DiamondClean Smart has a scrubbing sensor that gently reminds you to reduce scrubbing and alerts you when you're pressing to hard. In terms of accessories, the Prestige toothbrush uses charging puck and charging case, while the DiamondClean Smart includes a charging glass and a charging case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say that maybe with the 9900, changing modes would lessen the life of the motor. Essentially, they both clean the same way, but I do prefer the 9700 since it comes with the glass which can sit on top of the charger, and it is $50 less.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to dentalrave , what I have read and know about the two models, the 9900 Sonicare is better than the 9700 because it incorporates Advanced SenseIQ technology, offering personalized brushing guidance and detailed reports on brushing technique. Additionally, the 9900's contemporary design with updated color options and interface provides a more modern aesthetic. While both models offer multiple modes, the 9900 stands out for its real-time feedback and personalized guidance, making it a superior choice despite the higher price point.
