It does take some getting used to, but the rapid vibration is what cleans your teeth. Light pressure on your teeth is better than the firm pressure you might use with a regular toothbrush. The Sonicare should have had “easy start” activated when you got it, which starts slow and increases the power over 14 brushing. If you want to reactivate this for another 14, put the handle on the plugged in charger base, press and hold the on/off button until it beeps once, then release the button. It will give a low Med high tone and lights will blink 3 times to indicate easy start is activated.
