Q: QuestionWill speaker wire without any connectors on the end work with this unit?

• A:Answer Yes you can and I did for a while. But the wire ends stick out very close to another part of the connector. I didn't like it at all and got some connectors on eBay and switched to them as soon as possible because otherwise I thought the wires might short out if they moved.

• A:Answer Judging from what I see on the back, there is no dedicated phono input. But, you can connect a turntable, AS LONG AS, the turntable has its own onboard phono preamp. [Most turntables made today already have that]. If you are trying to connect an older turntable, you will have to get a separate preamp in order for it to work. Turntables use a 'magnetic' cartridge and stylus combination. Without the onboard preamp or a dedicated phono section with all that already in the receiver, the turntable will not have enough output to be seriously audible and also would produce bad audio distortion if you tried to push it otherwise.

• A:Answer Elac bookshelf speakers are 6 ohm or 4 ohm speakers, depending on the model. This Pioneer receiver has enough power to drive these speakers as long as you are not attempting to simultaneously use a second set of speakers connected to the B speaker terminals. If you plan to power two sets of speakers at the same time, both sets need to be 8 ohm speakers.

• A:Answer The Pioneer Receiver has great RCA audio cable pin insert ports and can probably take your TV audio outputs provided your TV has the audio output capability for RCA pin type audio cable. I run several audio components through mine with no problem. One additional thing is you might have to “patch” the RCA pin-type cable with another audio cable that your TV may need: for instance, when I want to record U Tube audio I patch my iPhone to my system: cable from iPhone audio port (“earbud output port”) with male/female plugs, then RCA pin-type cable to female port on iPhone cable and on Pioneer receiver. • A:Answer AM and FM transmission and reception are good where I live in Denver. Your receiver should perform well, so experiment with antenna placements for fun radio reception. Also in my opinion Pioneer is a quality product and should give you years of performance. My other household audio systems are Denon and Marantz, and I chose the Pioneer receiver for a specialized open reel tape system. Hope this helps. Brian in Denver

• A:Answer Yes and No. If you hit "settings" on the remote, use the arrow keys to select Bluetooth, hit "enter", use the left or right arrow key to select "off" and hit "enter" again. The Bluetooth will remain off unless you select Bluetooth on the stereo or remote or select Pioneer SX-10AE on your phone while the stereo is on. Once it is on, you need to manually switch back your input on the stereo or remote. Another hint, turn the auto-standby off while using Bluetooth or the stereo will turn off in 20 minutes when playing Bluetooth.

• A:Answer No, you supply your own speakers. I use speakers on a stand on either side of my flat screen TV. They are a 3-way 4 ohms speaker. The resistance can be almost anything between 4 and 16 ohms provided the Left and Right speakers are the same resistance. With 4 ohm speakers, you are limited a little as to how loud you can make them. The 4 ohm speakers can draw more peak current and possibly damage the amp if operated very, very loud. But as long as you keep the volume reasonable and not extremely loud, you will be ok. However, I can blow out my eardrums easily in my 400sq ft living room and hear it even in my bedroom and I'm a little hard of hearing. So 4 ohm speakers are not a problem. I don't use a subwoofer because my speakers are 3-way speakers and the woofer works well enough.
