• Banana plugs won't inherently improve sound quality. They will improve your ability to make better connections, though, which may sound better.

• Not necessarily, it just looks cleaner and is easy to connect/disconnect... I have them on all my connections, and was pretty happy with the result... it was much easier putting the ends on the speaker wire, and having an easy connection for the receiver in the cabinet than trying to screw/unscrew the posts to put the wires in individually. I'm using Monoprice banana plug, and straight adapters with 14 gauge speaker cable.
