“How do I connect a coax cable to this Pioneer Xumo 50" TV. I connect the coax to tv and run search for channels. It does not find any channels. My 40" Vizio works fine with the cable and no box. Any ideas??”

Pretty sure with it's low price that it doesn't have a digital tuner so it will only accept input from a cable box that does it's own tuning and just provides the video signal to the TV.

Please try again later.I don't know if this is a case of Best Buy (and all the responders, though Best Buy should know better) not knowing what they are talking about, or if there is contradictory information on this model. First of all, the Specifications clearly state that this has a "TV Tuner Type...ATSC." Second, there is a link to the manual which has instructions on connecting and using a coaxial input, both with or without a cable box. Detailed instructions are on pages 10 and 11, but the gist, after making all the required connections and powering the units, is "5) On the HOME screen, navigate to the Antenna icon. 6) If you cannot tune to channels you know exist, scan for channels. Go to Settings > Antenna and inputs > Antenna > Scan for channels." So unless Best Buy screwed up (always a possibility) and attached the incorrect manual to this item, or something is very wrong with the TV (also possible), you should be good to go.

Contacted pioneer support after buying and they confirmed an even asked if it was purchased from best buy. Seems they have had this question come up enough for pioneer support to be aware. You can add a tuner from amazon for about $20 to $30 depending on which one you choose.
