I have two monitors hooked up to my MacBook Pro 13" 2019 with Touch Bar. I have one monitor hooked up using the HDMI port and one monitor hooked up using the USB-C/Thunderbolt port. It works great, they are extended, NOT mirrored. I bought this item specifically for the dual monitor extended feature.

Out of the box - this model of hub can only support one additional wired display as it only has one HDMI port. It also takes up two of the Macbook Pro's native USB-C ports. So if you have the entry level or mid-range Macbook Pro that only has 2 USB C ports - you might want to pass on this model and buy two hubs (each with their own HDMI input) that connect via one USB-C port. If your Macbook Pro has four USB-C ports - you would need TWO of these hubs in you wanted two external displays in addition to the laptop screen. Also - it bears mentioning - that if you have a 6th generation or later Ipad OR an Ipad Pro - you can use that as an additional external display through the new "side kick" wireless feature. Hope this helped.
