This is a basic USB storage device. You can transfer or save any type of file to it but you have to manipulate them (copy, delete, etc.) yourself. The USB 3.0 standard is the fastest available right now but the device that you plug this thumb drive into has to support USB 3.0.

The major differences between thumb drives are the brand (i.e. PNY or Lexar or whatever), the GB (the amount of storage - the bigger the number the more stuff it will store but will also be more expensive than the ones that store less information.) Stored information can be pictures, music, movies, data files (like word processing or spreadsheet or whatever). The other thing is whether it's USB 2.0 or 3.0 or 3.1. The higher the number the faster it transfers the information from your computer to your thumb drive. You asked about deleting duplicates. Any computer or storage device such as a thumb drive cannot have two copies of the same name. So for example if you had a photo that was sent to you named IMG_1623.jpg, you cannot have another one of the exact same name in the same folder. If you do already have a picture on your thumb drive named IMG_1623.jpg and you try to copy it to the thumb drive the computer will ask you if you want to skip it, overwrite it, or have two copies. If you tell it you want the second copy, it will name the new one IMG_1623(1).jpg. I would suggest watching some youtube videos (youtube.com) on how to do file transfers. When you go to youtube.com, in the area where the magnifying glass is type in a description of what you want to watch (i.e. file transferring to thumb drive in Windows 10 or in whatever type of computer operating system you have). Youtube ia a great way to learn new skills on the computer without paying for a class.
