A:Answer I know this question is long since been done with. I still am going to answer anyway because hopefully anyone out there still looking for answers about this motherboard will stumble across this and maybe it will help them. Anyway, I have an old Gateway DX-4200 that has an Acer Ipimb-ar motherboard in it. I put the board into the case because I had parts laying around. This is just one of my many lesser gaming PCs that I built just to tinker with something. My main gaming PC is a lot newer and more powerful. I only build PC's. I don't go pre-built. Nothing wrong with that tho. Anyway, the Ipimb-ar motherboard is compatible with older AMD GPU's such as the Radeon HD 5870 1gb, the Radeon HD 7870 2gb and the Radeon HD 6950 and 6970 2gb. I currently have the Radeon HD 6950 2gb in it with an I5-2500k, 16 gb of ram and a PNY 1tb SSD. The Acer Ipimb-ar will also work with the very old, power hungry and scorching GTX 480. I have two of those cards that still work perfectly. The HD 6950 and I5 2500 combo still put up a decent fight to play games. As far as recent games all I know is that this setup would play Red Faction Remarstered (yes Re-mar-stered) on medium at around 50 fps at 1080p and Just Cause 3 at about the same. These are not new games but I wouldn't use this type of setup for current AAA games. Still a lot of fun can be had using it for Steam games. Less demanding Steam games. It runs Windows 10 very speedily. The HD 6959 doesn't support DX12 though so that is not too good. Still for anyone wanting to upgrade an old Ipimb-ar computer then this is all I know to help them.
