It should not be an issue as long as this matches what you have installed. . The most important thing is the speed, and type of memory. It is always best to install matching memory sticks, but not really necessary as far as performance. If you had matching sticks, you might get a little better performance, but it isn't something you would notice. Since you are going from 8 to 16 GB, you should notice a significant increase in performance. It just might be slightly better with matching sticks.
