Different decks primarily, though the components are higher quality as well. For example, the hp tokens are made of a thicker, board game style cardboard. The decks are also slightly more viable in action than previous boxes in my opinion, though this is definitely a 'beginners' product and not designed for competitive play.

Each has three decks worth of cards plus tokens and a board and everything else you'd need to learn to play the Pokémon Trading Card game. However, each set feature cards from different eras and have different Pokémon in them. The original featured cards from the Pokémon Sun and Moon games and the special GX Pokémon from those card sets. It features Charizard, Raichu, and Mewtwo. The second, from 2022, had cards from the Sword and Shield games, this time with special Pokémon V. The featured Pokémon were Cinderace, Pikachu, and Eevee. And this new, third one continues the trend, now featuring cards from the latest game, Scarlet and Violet, and features the new Pokémon ex cards. These are Armarouge, Pikachu, and Darkrai.
