Q: QuestionDoes my soundbar have blue tooth ? Am I able to connect a wlreless bluetooth speaker and will both the sound bar and speaker play at the same time in sync with one another? If so which wireless speakers work best?

• A:Answer You will have to play with your tv menu to turn off the internal speakers, or play with the inputs to get this to work. My sharp aquos did the same thing.

• A:Answer It has been my experience if the subwoofer is not in close proximity to the soundbar it cuts out quite a bit. I had to put ours right next to the tv stand the soundbar was on to get continuous sound.

• A:Answer Compatibility is very basic for most sound bars. As long as you have an optical out on the TV you are good. If you only have mini stereo out, you can still make it work. I would read up on other issues though as compatibility can mean more than what I’m calling out above.

Q: QuestionThere's no optical cable port on my TV. The instructions say I can use an AUX cable at the cost of the Dolby 5.1 decoding. Is there a converter gadget to fix this problem, or am I stuck with AUX?

• A:Answer If the TV has an HDMI audio out or HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel), then you can connect the TV to an AMP that supports the translation of HDMI audio to SP/DIF Optical Out (most home theater Amps will do this these days). However, since a big part of the reason to go with a sound bar is to avoid needing an Amp, it's kind of a clunky solution. I don't know of anyone who makes a compact HDMI ARC->SP/DIF Optical Out adapter, but they might exist. If your TV has a co-axial SP/DIF out, you might be able to buy a co-ax to optical converter for SP/DIF and use that to drive the sound-bar. If the TV doesn't have SP/DIF or HDMI Audio Out, then the TV doesn't have digital out and your limitations are built into the TV, not something that can be solved externally.

• A:Answer Hi Mike, the Polk S1 Sigma accepts an optical audio signal from your television. It does not have an HDMI input like competing products but Polk makes up for it in audio quality where it excels based on the comparisons with my ears. It does have Bluetooth audio (great for your iPhone) but I’d not recommend it for television bc of the inherent delay which might cause audio / video sync issues.
