A:AnswerI connected mine to the Denon AVR-S640H, and the setup couldn’t have been more simple. Connect the microphone, and the receiver does the rest. A sound pressure meter will also do a fine job helping you adjust the volume for each of your speakers.
A:AnswerUse the towers as full range. Roll the sub in at 40Hz. Set your current center at 120Hz and above and see how it mixes during dialog.
The center is mainly to help locate dialog and “bright” sounds on a screen. It blends with the LR to attempt to pan and make sound seem as if they are from the screen. But you don’t want it doing too much. Just enough for it to create a pleasant effect. You might even consider rolling off the highs above 2k on the center as well if your equipment allows it. It will cut down on brightness.
If you can do that successsfully with your current speaker, no need to get a new one. Should work fine.
A:AnswerFor surround sound and movies it will improve sound because you will have a speaker dedicated for dialogue. That is if you don't currently have a center channel speaker.
The S35 is a perfect match, all Signature Series. You could also pair them with the S30 if you have the room and want more bass.
A:AnswerPolk's Signature S35 was designed for maximum versatility, with horizontal or vertical placement options. It performs equally well as a left, right, or center channel speaker.
