To play the the record player, you will need an amplifier or “Receiver”. The receiver will allow you to play the record player with the speakers. Make sure it has record player inputs, check with store technician. The receiver will be able to accept CD inputs. There are multiple types of CD inputs, again check with store technician to ensure the receiver has your type of CD inputs. The Speakers will work well as bookshelf speakers for the units. best wishes.
