I have mine stand alone. I do have to bungee it to something when it’s windy

This umbrella can be used in an umbrella base, but don't waste your money. The umbrellas I ordered are not vented at the top. The slightest wind gust will blow the umbrella in the pool or a cross the yard breaking the umbrella. A Waste of money!

NO, IT HAS TO HAVE SOMETHING STRONG TO HOLD IT. AND MINE BROKE WITHIN 30 DAYS. DON'T PURCHASE IT. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
