  • QuestionDoes Quell help with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia or Neuropathy?

    Asked by Diana.

    • Answer The Quell was the Best Buy I have made. I have spent money on other products only to find they did not work. I recently had a knee replacement and back surgery. After the first time I used the Quell I saw improvements in my knee stiffness and pain. I have been using this product for about 2 weeks and have also seen some improvements in my back pain and spasms. This is not a cure for chronic pain, however it will help increasing your mobility . I would recommend this product to anyone that has chronic back and knee pain. Just be careful of the settings. The electric pluses can cause a jolt if they are on a high setting. Be sure to shut machine off before removing

  • QuestionWhat is the length of the straps? I have bigger calves and was wondering if the straps would fit me.

    Asked by Pamsue9566.

    • Answer I have large calfs and I still find the band reaches all the way around, it has a lot of elasticity to it. That being said, here is Quell's official response: The comfortable sports band is designed to fit most legs and is adjustable. It will fit any leg from 12 inches (30.5cm) to 24 inches (61cm) in circumference. If your leg is larger than 24 inches in diameter, please call our customer care team at 1-800-204-6577 to ask for a band extender.

  • QuestionDoes it help Arthritis in the lower back hips area

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes it helps if you use it every day, even in your sleep and stick with it long term. that being said, everyone's pain is different and results vary person to person. I need my Quell set quite high, on the upper 20's to mid 30's and get mild relief. Others I know swear this is the solution they've been searching for and have stopped taking all prescription pain meds. Try it, stick with it and I'll say it won't make your pain any worse.

  • QuestionI am a guy with "hairy legs." Should I shave around my lower legs where you wear the Quell unit to extend the life of the electrodes or does it really matter?

    Asked by helpthankyou.

    • Answer Use the “sport electrodes” only and there is no problem with leg hair at all. The normal electrode isn’t really a problem either with hairy legs but they are much ‘gooier” and the electrode substance tends to stick to your leg and i have not gotten more than a week’s use of normal electrode that ships with the device ‘starter kit’. Also, there is no difference in device performance, comfort or wearability with the sport electrode The ‘sport electrode’ substance is much less gooey, dryer, more concentrated and easily last two weeks and never sticks to your leg, hairy or not, when removing the device/ electrode. Hairy or not I highly recommend the ‘sport electrode’ instead of the normal one that ships with the starter kit and there is no need to shave the area - mostly because you’ll be moving it to the opposite leg and rotating its location as it tends to irritate the area if you don't and leave the device on your leg 24/7 in the same position. Hope this helps - Carl

  • QuestionAre better results achieved with a higher intensity setting.? What is the optimum intensity setting?

    Asked by steveman.

    • Answer My wife, who has a bad back injury, wears it so I will relate what she tells me. She sets the intensity via an app on her smartphone. It is not like a tens unit where the more pain you can endure, the better. With Quell, the setup will ask a few "can you feel it now" questions and set it accordingly. My wife LOVES her Quell so much she could be a spokesperson for the company. It comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, so PLEASE give it a try.

  • QuestionSo is this product just like a tens unit ? That is where I am confused? I have fibromyalgia, chronic regional pain disorder, RA, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, chrons, does it help with any of these ? As I have been getting nerve blocks.

    Asked by Justin.

    • Answer Yes, this is a tens product and it has truly been life changing for my niece who struggles terribly with fibromyalgia. Based upon her experience and those of my sister who is using the device for hernextrem pain from sciatica I can highly recommend this product!

  • QuestionHow much maintenance does this product require and how often do parts need to be replaced?

    Asked by Thomas.

    • Answer Each individual Quell electrode is designed to last approximately 2 weeks for a typical user, although that time may vary depending on frequency and intensity of use. Battery life is dependent on your particular therapy intensity and frequency of use but a fully charged battery can last up to 25 therapy hours. For best results, we recommend that you use your Quell daily for a minimum of 3 therapy sessions per day for at least 30 days. You may run therapy as often as needed for pain relief up to 24 hours a day. Some users only wear the device in the evenings and while sleeping. Others wear it during the day and at night.

  • QuestionDoes the device help relieve pain from menstrual cramps, if so for how long? I would like to know if this device can be worn around your waist?

    Asked by marbles.

    • Answer Quell is broadly indicated for the relief of chronic pain. We're hearing from patients with a wide variety of chronic pain conditions who have reported experiencing relief with Quell. We can't tell you definitively whether you will get relief with Quell, but we offer a 60 day money back so you can try it risk-free. Quell is designed to be worn 1-2" below the knee so that it can stimulate the cluster of sensory nerve fibers located there that is close to the surface of the skin. Because the stimulation triggers your body’s natural pain blockers to provide widespread pain relief, you do not have to have the device on the area of the body where you are experiencing pain in order to experience pain relief.

  • QuestionDoes the 60 day free trial period apply to units purchased at Best Buy or any other distributor?

    Asked by RMax.

If for any reason, within 60 days of purchase, your Quell does not provide you with relief from chronic pain, or you wish to return the device, we will accept the return and refund your purchase price. Quell products purchased from unauthorized resellers are not covered by the money back guarantee. • QuestionIs there any feedback how well the quell unit works for neuropathy?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Quell has FDA clearance for the symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain. It’s wearable technology may be used 24/7, so you can use the device during the day while active and at night while sleeping. Quell is 100% drug free and a safe pain management technology with minimal side effects. Everyone is different, even if they have the same underlying condition causing their pain. We can't tell you definitively whether you will get relief with Quell, but we offer a 60-day money back guarantee so you can try it risk-free. And we mean that, we have a no-hassle policy. Our goal is for as many people to try Quell and see if it works for them. We are confident in our product and hope you decide to give us a try.

  • QuestionDoes anyone else find that the Quell works better ABOVE the knee (thigh) instead of on the calf? It is a bit more challenging to wear it there, though, as it is harder to reach with your pants on.

    Asked by BeWellEveryone.

    • Answer I tried to wear it once above the knee and the main problem is slippage of the band. I think if I had their X-Large band, it would stay in place better. I wear leg braces due to wasted calf muscles, so for me personally, the calf, or a little lower works fine and is also accommodated by the shape of my braces. My body has compensated from having no useful calf muscle by my quads becoming really large and strong. Since they are doing the work of my entire lower leg, I think the constant movement of the muscle also contributes to the slippage. I will say, calibrating every time I put it on helps based on how my pain is that day. It also allows me to not have to use the app to increase intensity as often. I will just calibrate beyond feeling a "slight tingle" as the app suggests, to feeling a stronger sensation. I think the I hope the system has worked to help with your pain.

  • QuestionI have a history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in my right leg. The device instructions say to switch legs after 4 hours of use. Is Quell safe for use on a leg that has had at least one, possibly more, DVTs?

    Asked by Somersetrose.

    • Answer We recommend switching legs after 4-5 hours of use, however, you can also simply air out your skin for 15-30 minutes every 4-5 hours by removing the device and then reapplying it to the same leg. We have not heard of any issues from Quell users regarding DVT.

  • QuestionWhat is the difference between the Quell Starter Kit ($249) and the Quell System ($299). Is the Quell Starter Kit outdated?

    Asked by Winterbourneabbas.

    • Answer The more expensive package contains the Quell 2. I have the original Quell. The newer unit has the shape of a small cell phone and should fit easily in the sleeve. The unit I have is larger and a semi circular unit and requires a bit of effort to remove and replace. The Quell 2 apparently is smaller and more powerful. I have to recharge my unit about every 3 days. The new unit apparently adjusts its voltage when you change your leg position. Sometimes going from a standing or sitting position to laying down requires an adjustment one way or the other in voltage. If I had a chance to decide between the two units I would have gone for the more expensive. If you purchase the Quell device I recommend the sports electrode. I have tried both. The standard electrode gets very gooey and tends to fall apart after a few days. The sports electrode looks almost new after 2 weeks. On the second day of use I noticed a feeling of well-being. I acquired the Quell to obtain some relief from severe itching and pain from shingles. Now I don't go a day without my Quell. If you do purchase one unit or the other, I wish you a large measure of relief from your suffering. Ken

  • QuestionDoes anyone else seem to build up "tolerance" after using their Quell for a few days? I have to keep raising the intensity higher until eventually my leg cramps to get some pain relief...and then I can't walk. Switching legs/positions helps temporarily.

    Asked by ThanksEveryone.

    • Answer Yes, your body will build tolerance to the sensation from the electrodes. What I have found works best for ME, is to calibrate each time I put it back on. I will actually wait until I can feel sensations on the opposing sides of the electrodes, basically each end, instead of when I first feel the "tingle" That way, the baseline intensity is higher. It is also possible that your particular kind of pain is just not as easily managed. I don't mind the multiple calibrations to ensure the best effective usage. It has been a welcome addition to my pain management regimen and I have been able to come off of some pharma.
