The subscription is only required if you want to use or maintain connections to your banks or brokerages. If you only use it locally, you don't need a subscription or need to upgrade.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is only subscription-based now, you can't buy it once and use it forever. You can renew directly from Quicken or buy a new subscription on sale somewhere and extend your subscription with the new license key.

If there are other versions of quicken out there, I am sure you must renew after the expiration date be it 1-, 2- or 3-year leasing term.
