It is really easy. Take a picture of the old instal to know what wore color matches which zone. Then it is just plug and play!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is certainly very easy. Mounting is the most difficult part and even that is easy. Remember to take a picture of the old wire setup before you disconnect them. Make sure you unplug the old one first too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is easy to change out from and old controller to the Rachio 3. Just follow the instructions provided. The on-line tutorials are easy to follow. The only handyman skills is mounting the unit to the wall. They provide a template for you to do this so your holes line up properly. It is just like hanging a picture frame.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is very easy to install . I had an older rainbird controller too. Only heads up is you take a picture of the old setup and mark the wires on the order they need to go. It took me 20 mins literally end to end . Overall very happy with this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did it. Label your existing wires. They should all go into numbered or labeled connectors on the rainbird, like on my old hunter. Disassemble. Then add the wires to the new controller. There is information online. Then mount the controller. Or mount first, up to you. Plugin, install app, and then configure the controller. Test. The install took me an hour. My most difficult part was the wires from the old controller had to be trimmed in length and I had to press them into a fan shape to attach to the Rachio. Works great.
