• Purple switches are clicky and loud, while red switches are linear and silent. Reds are .5 faster then the purples, which are 1.5. So reds are better for gaming, and so are purples.

• If you want to get the feel of a loud satisfying click that fits your playstyle, you can choose the purple clicky switches. On the other hand, if you like a smoother and quieter switch, it will be the red linear optical switch.

• Red keys are generally what I read are better. Using the purple switches for my purpose has been fine though.
