• No. It is not a silent keyboard, but it is about 1/4 as loud as the loudest mechanicals. A few years ago I got a mechanical keyboard with "red cherry" keys. It was so loud that my wife made me return it.

• It is not silent, no, but it is a lot quieter than you would think it is and very quiet compared to other gaming keyboards.
