The short answer is yes - the recording level is loud enough and clear enough to be easily understood without any post-processing at 15 feet. The slightly longer answer is that the sound picked up by any microphone is a mixture of ambient background noise and the subject's voice. I recorded my voice with my iPhone (7 plus) both with the VideoMic Me-L and with the normal mic of the iPhone 7 plus. The room I was in had a slight echo and the sound of the Rode VideoMic Me-L was the same at 15 feet as the iPhone's built-in mic at 6 feet. The closer the sound source is to the microphone the better the sound but the VideoMic Me-L does reject some ambient noise making the recorded voice or sound source more prominent.
