• The software install is not required for RGB lighting adjustment and effects changes. See the manual for the various function key (Fn) combinations to select between 18 different effects modes, plus speed, direction, color, brightness, and default settings. The software is required for Macro recording, however.

• yes and you can do much more. also you can make the ripple just one color like red and pink

• Hi, You can set the keyboard backlighting as you desired if you install the software .
