Those are two entirely different filters. The MWF is shorter and wider than the MSWF. I don't have your fridge but I have GE PSC25PSWASS model (which is also a counter depth side by side fridge like yours) and it uses the MSWF filters. If you take a look at your filter and compare to the pictures on-line you should be able to tell which model filter you need. Alternatively, you can go to the GE appliance site, you can find your model and spec sheet should tell you what filter to use.

The water filter cartridge is located in the back upper right corner of the refrigerator compartment. MWFP is an improved, replacement version of MWF with GE's Advanced Filtration (Reduces 5 pharmaceuticals that are often found in trace amounts in tap water: fluoxetine, trimethoprim, progesterone, ibuprofen, and atenolol. Pharmaceuticals claims tested by independent laboratory. The pharmaceuticals reduced by the water filter are not necessarily in all users' water). See page 11 of the Owner's Manual for your model: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60647-7.PDF - (Some model refrigerators- (Top Freezers w/Internal Water Dispensers & Bottom Freezers) have a cylindrical style SmartWater filter, MSWF. This filter is not interchangeable with the MWF/MWFP). Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
